MINUTES

SCDP Central Committee Meeting 5/21/25 6:00 PM

  • Meeting called to order at 6:20 pm by the Chair, Molly Mulcahy.
  • The Pledge of Allegiance was spoken.
  • A mission statement was requested from the Communication Committee for clear messaging. An initial statement was created and feedback was received. A final mission statement was not voted on. At the next Central Committee meeting, the statement will be presented again and formally voted on.
  • The Communications Policy was presented. Feedback was given and the Policy will be reworked. The next meeting the final draft of the Policy will be presented again and formally voted.
  • The Website is still a work in progress. There is more work to be done, but the site is up and usable. There are future goals for the site which will be presented as needed. Once the website is complete there will be a formal announcement on social media.

No Treasurer’s Report Is Available at this Time

  • There is no new business to address.
  • Our first Think Tank was successful. It was decided a Think Tank should happen once a quarter (June, September, and November). A June Think Tank was requested.
  • Formal Central Committee meetings for the SCDP should also happen on the same days or within the same month as the Think Tanks.
    • Informal meetings can and will happen, but they may be more sporadic on an “as-needed” basis.
  • Different topics were discussed for what the June Think Tank should be about. It was decided that County Funding and Taxes should be the next Think Tank.
    • County Commissioner Sam White and County Assessor Laila Illoway were brought forward and agreed upon to be invited as speakers for the June Think Tank. County Clerk Carrie Long, County Treasurer Emily Paravicini, County Commissioner Doug Vickery, and a staff member from the County Attorney’s office were also discussed as possible invites for this event or future events.
  • Future topics for Think Tanks must continue to be nonpartisan issues that Sublette County citizens care about and are affected by.
    • Migration corridors, the interface between public and private land, and zoning and development were all discussed as future topics.
  • A moderator for this event was requested. There were no formal decisions on who that moderator would be.
    • It’s very important the event is an open dialogue and educational opportunity, not a potential for citizens to harass the speakers or for the speakers to curtail the audience.
  • Questions were posed that could be talking points for the speakers to focus on.
  • Inviting and co-sponsoring an event with the Sublette County Republican Party was brought forward for consideration (potentially for the June Think Tank).
  • June 17th was the date initially decided for the Think Tank, depending on the availability of the Lovatt Room at the Sublette County Library. Paige Phillips will check and create a reservation.
  • Molly Mulcahy offered to contact one or both radio stations for potential air time (102.7 The Peak and 101.1 KPIN).
  • Final order of business: Precinct Representatives
    • Precinct Representatives are encouraged to participate/host different activities within their precincts to encourage a relationship within their communities.
    • A plan offering training for Precinct Representatives is still in the works.
    • Engaging with Republican Precinct Representatives to help with or participate in trainings was discussed but not decided on.
  • No further topics of discussion.
  • Molly Mulcahy moves to adjourn the meeting. Paige Phillips seconded. Motion passes. – 8:15 pm 5/21/25

Respectfully Submitted,

Paige Phillips – Secretary
